The following are some of our favorite recipies.
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Fry's Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 c. packed dark brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. softened, salted butter
3 large eggs
2 tsp. mexican vanilla
3/4 c. Bernard Callibault Milk Chocolate Rosettes
1 1/4 c. Bernard Callibault Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
Preheat oven to 300C Combine flour, soda, salt and cocoa and set aside. Blend the sugars and butter together until they form a grainy paste. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Incorporate the Flour and Butter mixtures and chocolate until just combined - do not over mix. Drop one well rounded tablespoon of dough at a time onto an un-greased, non-stick cookie sheet, with centres 1 1/2" apart. Bake for about 12-14 minutes. Transfer to a cool flat surface. For most enjoyment, eat while still warm.
2 pounds beets (6 Medium)
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp horseradish
3 Tbsp white wine vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 cup chives or green onions (chopped)
Leave skins and a bit of stem on beets. Wrap in foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake @ 400 F for 1-2 hours until tender Let beets cool then slip off skins/
Slice beets or cut into wedges
Combine mustard, garlic, horseradish, vinegar, pepper and salt.
Drizzle dressing over sliced beets, sprinkle with chives. Serve at room temperature.
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1 8 oz. container Imperial cheese (red container)
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco
1/4 teaspoon Worchester
dash of salt
4 cups Rice Krispies
Have butter and cheese at room temperature. Blend butter, flour, Imperial cheese Tabasco Worchester, and salt in an electric mixer. Add Rice Krispies and mix by hand. Roll into balls and press flat. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Group 1
3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 beaten egg
Group 2
2 cups flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Cloves
Cream first group of ingredients. Combine second group of ingredients. Add second group to first group and mix. Roll into balls, dip in granulated sugar. Bake at 350-375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes. Delicious! Makes 2 dozen cookies.
